Reply sanctions , Russia expel the U.S. from the Space Station

Russia brings up tensions with the United States into space . Once showered with economic sanctions by the U.S. and its allies in Europe , the Kremlin responded by expelling the U.S. from the International Space Station .

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 , Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said the U.S. should pull out of the International Space Station in 2020 . Russians also have rejected the U.S. request to extend the lifetime of the station is in the Earth's orbit .

International Space Station or ISS is currently manned by U.S. and Russia . But since the U.S. space shuttle retirement in 2011 , Washington relied on Russian Soyuz spacecraft to reach the ISS .

For once the fly using the Soyuz , the United States should pay to Russia more than U.S. $ 60 million or Rp688 billion per person . The U.S. is currently developing its own spacecraft to the ISS to cooperate with the private sector , predicted to be completed in 2017 .

Russia 's decision would disrupt the U.S. mission at the ISS . Though the U.S. has plans to use the station which is also used by 15 of the country until 2024 .

In addition , the U.S. also may not use Russian -made rocket engine to fly a military satellite . Russia also suspended operations of the U.S. GPS navigation system in the territory of the Kremlin began in June.

According to Rogozin , they are doing this step linked the U.S. imposed sanctions on Russia , following the annexation of Crime in Ukraine . Russia also called the United States and the European Union want to cause instability in eastern Ukraine , where separatist flourishing today .

One of the sanctions is the termination of an export permit high-tech goods from U.S. companies to improve the military capabilities of Russia .
" We are concerned to continue the development of high-tech projects with unreliable partners like the United States , which always politicize everything , " said Rogozin .
